R-WeBVM
Create and run local virtual computers in your browser.
Overview
R-WeBVM is a static, local-first web app for creating and running virtual computers in the browser. It uses v86, IndexedDB, OPFS, and Cache Storage to boot supported guest systems, persist files, manage computers, and work without an application server or user account.
Browser virtual computers
Create, rename, clone, delete, pause, reset, and open virtual computers from a local inventory.
Real guest systems
Boot Alpine Linux, FreeDOS, and KolibriOS with virtual display, keyboard, mouse, and mobile trackpad support.
Persistent local storage
Keep computer state, files, settings, and system images in IndexedDB, OPFS, and offline cache.
Built-in tools
Use the terminal, file manager, CodeMirror editor, viewer, system monitor, and runtime settings from the web desktop.
Use and install
Open R-WeBVM in a supported browser, then choose Install app from the browser menu to add the PWA. For Alpine networking in Chrome, install R-WeBVM Companion from the Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/r-webvm-companion/jehofppjglbopbmbjedodjlbdbnkphnp
